We don’t hear about Satan, or the devil, in church too often but he is real.
The devil is a fallen angel who has chosen to reject God forever. He is jealous of men and wants us to choose against God like he did.
While we shouldn’t obsess over him, we should not ignore him either.
His only mission is to keep you from getting to Heaven.
Behind the disobedient choice of our first parents lurks a seductive voice, opposed to God, which makes them fall into death out of envy. Scripture and the Church’s Tradition see in this being a fallen angel, called “Satan” or the “devil”. The Church teaches that Satan was at first a good angel, made by God: “The devil and the other demons were indeed created naturally good by God, but they became evil by their own doing.”

The devil exists:

Like the angels, the devil has no physical body:

Many passages in the Gospel show us that we are dealing not just with one Devil, but with many. But the principal one is Satan, which means the adversary, the enemy; and along with him are many others, all of them creatures of God, but fallen because they rebelled and were damned—a whole mysterious world, convulsed by a most unfortunate drama about which we know very little.
